IRELAND STARS IN THROWBACK CITY GAME

Stephen Ireland was one of the main actors when Manchester City released their list of 12 memorable festive fixtures earlier this month. Stephen Ireland was mentioned for his performance during the Premier League clash with Hull City over a decade ago. The ex-Republic of Ireland midfielder was the star of the show as the Citizens hit Hull City for five at home. Manchester City beat Hull City 5-1 at home and the game was mentioned as one of the 12 memorable festive fixtures for the club. Stephen Ireland emerged as the best player at the end of the game.


He provided two assists to propel Manchester City to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first half. Brazilian player Robinho was formerly a record signing at Manchester City and he was responsible for two goals from those four goals. Having made his Manchester City debut at the young age of 19 years old, Stephen Ireland was tipped to be a dynamic player with a sensational future. That future never came though, as he hasn’t been close to a player he seemed he was going to become as at when he made his debut.

Stephen Ireland has Not Finished Football Yet

 

There are many instances where footballers came back to the football grounds after announcing their retirements. Stephen Ireland was one of Ireland’s most promising players, who is now ready to get back to his form again in that 2020-21 season after a 2 years break. The 34 years attacking midfielder played his last match for Stoke City in May 2018 and since then she is not a part of any competitive professional football team.

As some of the controversies kept him away from the Ireland national football team, now he is again in search of a place in the team of Stephen Kenny. He hasn’t played for Ireland for the last 13 years. But he still thinks that he can serve his country for at least 3 to 4 years. As per his own words, he is confident that he has at least three or four years left in him as a footballer. He is determined to work hard and make his country proud. When he was asked about the controversial “Granny Gate” incident, he replied that he prioritized his life events and wanted to stay with his girlfriend who had a miscarriage during that time. This incident happened during a crucial tour where the team was getting to the ground for the qualification to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

MAN UTD EYE GREALISH SWOOP

Manchester United are ready to make Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish their priority this summer. The Red Devils were linked with the Aston Villa captain during the winter window, but no move materialized. As the two clubs were involved in a major course over the season.


Manchester United are trying to force their way back into the champions league, while Aston Villa are doing all they can to avoid an immediate return to the championship. Man United made two signings during the winter transfer window. They brought Bruno Fernandez and Nigerian International Odion Ighalo to boost their top four hopes. RELIVE: MANCHESTER CITY VS QPR

We’re going to look back to 2012 on May 13 where Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers played in the final day of the league season. The Citizens need all the three points to be crowned champions. Their first title in decades.


At the same time Manchester United travel away to Sunderland.  Both Manchester clubs were level on 86 points. Although City had superior goal difference leaving them at the top of the Premier League table. Only a few weeks before the season finale. City had defeated United 1–0 thanks to captain Vincent Kompany’s header, but prior to that City had also defeated United 1–6 at Old Trafford, setting a record defeat at home for the Red Devils. Thanks to this victory for City, they had the upper hand and were favourites to claim the title, their first in five decades.

SOLSKJAER ANGRY AT NEMANJA MATIC RED CARD

Manchester United got eliminated by their bitter cross-town rivals on Wednesday night. The Red Devils beat the Citizens at their home, one nil but it was not enough to overturn the deficit of the first leg.

XHAKA STRIPPED OF ARSENAL CAPTAINCY

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been stripped of the captain armband after the series of events that occurred during the Gunners 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace. Xhaka was reacted furiously to being booed by the home fans when substituted in the game.

He appeared to rile the fans up by cupping his ear and removed his shirt before storming down the tunnel in anger. The aftermath of his behavior had caused anger among fans with former players quick to criticize his reaction to fans’ criticism.

Josh, Son of Stephen Ireland Plays for Youth of England as the Academy of Stoke City Celebrates 5 Call-UPS

The midfielder of Stoke City Academy is following the footsteps of his father Stephen Ireland at the club level. But now, he has been called up to be a part of England team at under-15 level, where he spent his career.  The Ireland Sr. has won a total of 6 caps for the Republic of Ireland. Jr. Ireland played the 2nd of 2 games versus Belgium at the venue St George’s Park of Burton which was played yesterday – with his mom Jessica posting a video clip on her Instagram account of him darting through in order to hit the crossbar with the left leg in defeat by 3-1.

His Stoke Academy teammate named Charlie Edwards was kept on standby for the very same team but he had to back off because of an injury. Nathan Broome who is the goalkeeper of Under 18s of Stoke made his debut for the under 17s of England last week. He kept a clean sheet in a match against Hungary which was played at Pinatar Arena in Spain in the Murcia Tournament. Broome joined the Academy of Stoke last year when he switched from Manchester City and since then he has won many admirers for his shot-stopping as well as distribution.

STEPHEN IRELAND SON FOLLOWING FATHER’S STEPS?

Stephen Ireland is well remembered for his time at Manchester City where he briefly shone under Mark Hughes before falling out of favour with the club. The talented Irishman was touted for great things but saw out his career with Aston Villa and Stoke City without achieving any of the heights expected of him.

However, his son Josh Ireland is looking to follow in his father’s footstep and make the cut into professional football.  The youngster currently plays for Stoke City Academy and has impressed the coaching staff with his performances.
